Interpreti Veneziani are a major attraction where ever they play - in Italy or internationally. The 2012 festival’s opening night concludes
with an exciting program including Schumann’s violin and strings arrangement of the Bach Chaconne, Vivaldi concerto for guitar, flute and
strings and concerto “Hommage a Liege” for flute, guitar and strings by Piazzolla.
Luisella Botteon graduated in flute from the Conservatory of Bologna in Salzburg under the guidance of Roberto Fabbriciani. In 1985
she graduated in Humanities at the University of Padua with a Thesis in Music History. She has released on various international
record labels, as well as publishing essays for magazines including Contemporary Music Review. She is currently Professor of Music at
the Conservatory “L. Cherubini” of Florence.
The Cauldron are a Mildura based,traditional style, folk-group featuring Kathy Dubois, Glenda Underhill and Mike Oates and
are best known as a Celtic trio. However, their versatility enables them to present music from many genres. The Cauldron’s repertoire
features both the familiar and the obscure. Instruments include harp, concertina, guitar, harmonica, whistle and bodhran, blended with
three contrasting vocal styles guarantee that audiences will be served an interesting brew by The Cauldron.
Deborah Cheetham Yorta Yorta woman,Soprano, composer and author has established her place as an artist in great demand. Since her international debut in
1997 Ms Cheetham has performed in the theatre and concert halls of the United States, France, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom,New Zealand and throughout
Australia.
Roberto Fabbriciani was born in Arezzo, Italy and is known for his versatility and creativeness and for his large repertoire. He has played for the most
important festivals throughout Europe. He is a passionate interpreter of the New Music and collaborates with composers such as John Cage, Ennio Morricone,
Karl Stockhausen and Takemitsu who have dedicated works to him. He has also worked extensively with some of the great conductors. He holds Master
Classes for the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, for Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and at New York University.
The Stiletto Sisters are a dynamic and vibrant trio featuring Hope Csutoros on violin, Judy Gunson on piano accordion and vocals, and double-bassist Jo To.
The Stiletto Sisters perform regularly to packed houses in their home town of Melbourne. They have participated in festivals nationally and overseas including
the prestigious Four Winds Festival in Bermagui, the Brunswick Music Festival,the Famous Spiegeltent and “Live en Août” Festival in New Caledonia and most
recently a European tour culminating in the Prague 9 Gates Festival. They tour regularly to regional Victoria including performances at The Castlemaine State
Festival and sell-out performances at the Port Fairy Spring Festival in 2006, 2007 and in 2009 for the 20th anniversary of the Festival.
In 2007 the Stiletto Sisters recorded the music for Rolf de Heer’s most recent film “Dr. Plonk” and performed live for the film’s premiere.
The Stiletto Sisters have just released their second live CD, “The Fox and the Bear” recorded at one of their Spiegeltent concerts.
Massimo Scattolin started his concert activity as a soloist, and later took up chamber music, becoming specialized in the most
important concerts for guitar and orchestra, including some specially written for him by great composers such as Violet Archer and
Astor Piazzolla. He has collaborated with the major European television networks and with great theatre actors. He is a member
of prestigious international contests and holds master classes at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He has been recording for the Sonar,
Symposium, and Rivoalto labels, both as a soloist and together with some of the most outstanding musicians in Europe. In 2007
he played with the Buena Vista Social Club launching their Warner Bros CD of orchestral works in Havana, Cuba.
Josephine Vains relocated to Europe for five years to study cello and after winning the 1997 inaugural National Chamber Music Competition with
Trio 3.0.3. She regularly performs with the Melbourne Symphony, Orchestra Victoria, ASTRA, Australia Pro Arte, for the Piano Landmarks Series and the Team
of Pianists. As a chamber musician she has performed throughout Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, China and Japan and competed in
the Melbourne, Osaka and Trieste International Chamber Music Competitions. She enjoys teaching at the Victorian College of the Arts,
University of Melbourne and Monash University. Josephine performs with the Firebird Trio and can be heard regularly on ABC FM.
