This medal is awarded annually to
an Australian writer whose work
best reflects the high standards
and distinguished literary
accomplishments that Philip
Hodgins consistently advocated
and exemplified in his poetry.
The 2009 - 2011 judge, Morag Fraser
has chosen Peter Steele, who will
be presented with a unique medal
created by Mildura artist Jim Curry
and a cash prize of $3000 by Anna
and Helen Hodgins.
This meal will be designed by
Coomealla born chef, Peter Webley,
who began his career as an apprentice
at the Mildura Grand Hotel in 1998.
Peter’s menu will reflect the skill
and flavour for which he has been
recognised as head chef at Stefano’s
Restaurant for the last four years.
